Dr. Grace Farris earned a B.A. from Brown University in Portuguese and Hispanic Studies. While an undergraduate, she wrote and illustrated a daily comic strip called “Coup de Grace” that was published in the Brown Daily Herald from 2001-2004.
Dr. Farris went on to graduate from Brown Medical School and completed her internal medicine residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Farris practiced as a hospitalist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and was a fellow in bioethics at Harvard Medical School in 2016. From 2011-2016 Dr. Farris was an Instructor in Clinical Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
In January 2017, Dr. Farris joined the Icahn Mount Sinai School of Medicine as assistant professor and Chief of the Division of Hospital Medicine at Mount Sinai West.
As a hospitalist, bioethicist and mom, Dr. Farris is interested in visual storytelling and health. Her comics have appeared in Medium’s comics website Spiralbound, in MUTHA Magazine and the Annals of Internal Medicine.
